A Lack of Conviction
Soothing solo piano track. Introspective, warm piano chords, simple melodic piano motif. Calm, searching, slow-paced, a hint of sadness and regret, but with acceptance and hope. Perfect for the aftermath of an emotional goodbye, as we survey what is left.
The Sea
Solo Piano waltz. Swooning, swaying piano motifs, floating chord progressions and buoyant piano lines and a swell of solo piano over a waltzing rhythm. Earnest, emotional, searching, tender and, finally, determined. A journey across the sea surface and into the depths, would suit a TV/Film scene with heavy emotional impact or more intimate, soul-searching scenarios.
Slow Cave In
Atmospheric strings track. Duelling raspy string effects, subtle ambient noise, subtle electronic drone imitating string overtones. Tense, suspended, unmoving, claustrophobia on a loop, would suit an uncertain situation that shows no sign of being resolved.
Piano version lighter, with more movement from the intermittent piano. For more hopeful onscreen situations.
Gamelan version lighter, more soothing and meditative.
Escalate
Sombre, driving string track. Intro of see-sawing sustained strings, sprinkles of plucked acoustic guitar. Intense bass pizzicato enters, builds and drives track. Faster, more urgent section. Repetitive, choppy string motif, powerful string melody enters, builds further with extra string lines and finger-picking acoustic guitar detail. Serious, threatening, brooding and dark, would suit an escalating situation on film, a move from slight threat to real danger.
Stem tracks available.
A Father’s Grip
Thoughtful acoustic guitar folk instrumental. Slow and pensive folky melodic acoustic guitar intro. A pause then a faster section, with finger-picking repetitive folk/blues guitar. A more meandering, explorative section follows into a more upbeat improv-style, rootsy country/folk section. Contemplative at first, then hopeful and positive, yet low-key. Bert Jansch with hints of boogie-woogie, a guitar journey to accompany reflective, traditional scenes on TV/Film/Adverts.
Anticipating Something Not So Good
Atmospheric piano and orchestral string track. Delicate, sparse piano intro, choppy orchestral strings, feedback-like string drones building in intensity throughout. Threatening, sombre and foreboding, a post-apocalyptic soundscape for a dark TV/Film/Doc moment.
Alt version features additional squelchy electronics.
Reminiscing
Downbeat trip/hip hop track. Starts with a moody electric guitar riff, heavy with reverb and delay, dark and brooding. Electronic samples and complex beats are added, before single piano notes add to the sombre mood. Melancholy, serious, slightly dark with flashes of futuristic silver, reminiscent of Massive Attack and downbeat, emotional 90s films.
The Old Tree Swing
Lyrical solo piano track. Gentle undulating piano arpeggios with bright, hopeful piano melody above. Introspective, quiet, melancholy moment, brightening to the original melody. Peaceful, thoughtful, searching and nostalgic, a piano journey through idyllic American countryside, watching from the car window, memories flooding in as the patchwork fields flicker by.
60 secs and 30 secs ad length versions available.
WMOTW
Warm piano and marimba track. Repetitive, emotional piano, warm orchestral strings swell and mellow melodic marimba. Calm, relaxed and romantic, would suit an advert for a loving product that will protect your family, or as background music for positive campaign videos and documentaries.
