Frostwork

Hopeful piano solo. Bright piano notes over a repetitive, reassuring piano bass line of broken chords. Moves to fast block chords, in a delicate, waltz-like rhythm. A further layer of optimistic piano notes are added, building anticipation for a happy event or resolution. Positive, charming and happy-sad, perfect for a thoughtful, narrative advert or quaint TV/Film sequence.

Drone 1 & 2 (Suite)

Contrasting electronic drone tracks. Electronic feedback, harsh waves of low frequency sound, an electronic wave-like pulse the only rhythm. Dark, uncomfortable and atmospheric, would suit a tense, disconcerting TV/Film sequence.

Drone 2 is more dreamlike, waves of ambient sound, cleansing, meditative, healing.

Front Street

Vintage rock ‘n’ roll track. Drum intro, laid back sparse funk guitar, 60s-style keys. Female vocal chorus enters, singing subtle, dreamy ‘aaahs’. Strings enter over funky guitar, walking bass guitar and retro keyboards. A 1960s-esque psychedelic keyboard and string section before a rock ‘n’ roll guitar solo. Cool, laid back, upbeat and retro. Brings to mind ’60s London, as well as ’90s Britpop, groovy young folks swanning around swinging London. Perfect for an easy-going, fun advert or background music for a retro TV/Film sequence.

Time and Memory

Gentle piano track with subtle orchestral strings. Repetitive piano motif builds, orchestral strings join, growing in intensity before a return to the lyrical solo piano. Warm, string swell rejoins, returns to solo piano. Lush, powerful and beautiful, would suit a pensive Film/TV/Doc scene encapsulating a sense of longing and nostalgia.

Day Off School

Acoustic folk/country instrumental. Bluegrass acoustic guitars, jaunty fiddles, rollicking drums and hand claps, jangly mandolins and surly double bass. Upbeat, energetic and earnest, a jangly folk number to suit adverts or TV/Film/Doc scenes trying to keep it country.

Tonight We Drink Wine and Dance

Melancholy solo piano. Amélie-style minor oom-pah chords, growing in intensity and embellishment throughout the track. Another line of piano plays a lyrical melody above the regular chords. An energetic chorus brings a modulation and intricate break. Back to opening chords for a finish. Emotional and wretched, yet passionate, would suit an advert or TV scene requiring Gallic charm and impulsive, reckless emotion.

‘Underscore’ version features chords only, no melody line.

Adagio

Melancholy piano and orchestral string track. Emotional sustained string swells, a deep bed of full double bass with gentle piano notes picked out, heavy with meaning. Slow-moving, introspective, with an almost religious sense of thoughtful wonder, suitable for TV/Film/Doc scenes of emotional intensity, feels like a difficult but necessary full stop, something significant coming to an end.

Always Angry

Pulsating electronic thriller. Electronic horn-like sustained blasts, clanging sound FX, harsh drum machine. Ascending orchestral strings signal intriguing danger. A thoughtful, desolate electric guitar solo before a return to the relentless electronic sirens. Strings build again and electric guitar returns to finish. Automatic, inhuman, threatening and brash, the sound of a prison watchtower and the rhythmic plodding of prisoners boots, would suit a dramatic thriller on TV or Film.
