Turkish saz instrumental. Improvisatory solo on Turkish saz, resembling the Arabic oud, as well as lute or guitar. Improvisations end on repeated refrains. Melancholy and meditative, bringing to mind desert plains and traditional ways of life, imagine a Spaghetti Western set in Turkey. Perfect folk music for an Arabic or Turkish documentary.

Mantis

Folk fusion instrumental on Cretan lyra and fiddle. A cirucular melody on Cretan lyra is doubled on fiddle and joined by subtle percussive hand claps, sounding at once like Austrian mountain folk without the yodelling and like a weaving Middle Eastern melody. Thoughtful and open yet formulaic in its structure, wandering music for an epic nature walk, perfect for a travel or nature documentary.

Guitar Wanderings

Slow-paced acoustic guitar track with drones. Dramatic, sparse acoustic guitar intro, breaks into a melancholy, reflective melody, accompanied by a sitar-like string drone. Jazz instrumental. Electric guitar phrase repeated, marimba enter with a contrasting motif, dynamic drums and breezy brass on top. Short break before a funky bass, marimba, keyboard and sax solo section. 70s wocka wocka electric guitar with polyphonic rhythms. Psychedelic keyboards continue the 70s vibe with jazz brass. Gentle, bubbling guitar and keys section, drums join and brass re-enters. Ends on a blast of brass. African jazz instrumental. Snaking double bass intro, joined by jazz drums, vibraphone, electric guitar and keyboard playing a rhythmic motif. Change of rhythm, horn blasts then saxophone melody, subtle African-jazz style, effects-heavy electric guitar solo, brass noise before vibraphone motif returns and all play until the finish. Intriguing, exotic and sensual, with hints of Mulatu Astatke and a little Fela Kuti influence, would suit a travel documentary or Film/TV scene evoking the spirit of a hot night in urban 1970s Africa.
