Once A Squirrel

Multi-instrumental contemporary jazz/folk. Light-footed marimba intro into a marimba riff with counter melody. Violin and cello join with a brief melody, continue over the marimba. Polyrhythms emerge from multiple layerings and harmonies. Quiet marimba break before a burst of vigorous strings. Dynamic new section with sparse piano, strange rhythms and freely soloing marimba. Slow down and fade to finish. Playful, folky and a bit magical, secret goings on, covert, playful encounters and mysterious but jolly woodland fun. Like the soundtrack to a jaunty but slight dark Enid Blyton tale.

Due

Atmospheric electronic track with accordion. Broken underwater synth chords, bloopy, deep and mellow, build a beguiling atmosphere. Soon joined by freely melodic, meandering accordion giving it a French flair as watery chords and deep sea synths lay down calming chords and mermaid choruses. Magical, vast and deep, a hopeful, experimental track perfect as documentary background music or for a Gallic product or film, or to accompany a frightened mermaid morphing back to human form.

Flying Feeling

A 90s inspired, chilled out jazzy hip hop track. A 4-3-2-1, vocal countdown then chilled out piano, warm mellow synth and samples take the lead. A boom bap hip hop beat drops, laid back and blissed out. Piano becomes more prominent, then golden sustained synth chords hang, waiting for resolution. A fuzzy synth repeated phrase is hard to pin down, flying free, not landing, no resolution. Hopeful, warm, inspired and free, this track would suit film and tv sequences. Driving through deserted city streets on a sunny evening, sun low in the sky, bleached out visuals, orange light on tarmac. Freedom and serenity.

This is a Chair

Relaxed solo blues guitar track. Chilled acoustic guitar melody, calm and restrained with melodies emerging from the free rhythmic style. Dramatic build in speed and emotion before a strong, cheerful refrain, followed by a sparse, bittersweet outro.
