Sophisticated and masterfully arranged – I’d imagine Pina Bausch choreographing something to this.
Solo jazz piano. Thoughtful, slow-paced jazz piano chords, old-fashioned jazz meandering, feeling semi-improvised with passages resolving on sweet chords or questioning chord clusters. Melancholy, pensive and full of longing, would suit a classic film scene, a là Casablanca, lonely hearts gaze into their whisky sodas…nobody understands like the piano player.
Atmospheric string and piano build. Ephemeral strings, echoing beat intro, gentle piano notes, strings drone building anticipation. Piano chords then opens up with sustained strings, drums, guitar and tambourine. A quiet section, the best remains then drops out, just piano and light strings to finish. Determined, ambitious, striving and positive, would suit an advert for a powerful, reliable car, or a success against the odds on TV/Film.

Dramatic change of tone: complete slow down with drunk double bass and woozy violin swaying drowsily between notes. Shrill piano joins adding jazzy flourishes, all build back to previous upbeat, ramshackle melody. Dramatic, surprising, reckless and intriguing, suitable for a rollicking TV advert or Film/TV/Doc scene, or a strange party scene, where our character is disorientated and disconcerted by the madness happening all around, dropped unexpectedly into a quirky unknown world.
Somber and ethereal, with a piercing violin, a mellow vibraphone, and a classical piano that dialogue in a very physical and earthy performance in the vein of mid 1800s classical sonatas. Structured in 4 parts, the violin acts as a connector between all the sections and bridges firstly the vibraphone and then the piano, before returning solo for the coda. High quality execution that will fit dramas with a sense of sadness and longing with a seethed edge.
Breezy and atmospheric, with a nice combination of strings and woodwinds that deliver ostinato figures and create a bed for a piano solo theme in the middle section. It is somewhat excited and relentless, with a sad tone and melancholy lurching around. Definitely not standing still, will suit running scenes, possibly nature shots and short form adverts. Full on in your face hip hop. It’s big, it’s bad and brash. Recommended for rapid cut promos, or waking up the neighbours. This guy knows what I’m talking about. I’m nodding my head as I type this. Imagine Busta Rhymes ‘Ante Up’ mixed with a little bit of Missy Elliot and some chipmunks, but like, hip hop chipmunks. All samples cleared.
