The Enchantress of the North

Pastoral woodwind septet. Flute melodies interweave, while others playfully arpeggiate underneath and and provide a walking bass line, moving merrily as one unit. Jaunty, thoughtful and enchanting, dancing from a dewy meadow into the dark woodlands of a frightening fairytale, perfect for fantastical films and TV scenes, as well as ads or elevated reality TV: Houses and Gardens of Great Britain or suchlike.

Puddle Pondering

Hypnotic improvisational string track on Cretan lyra. Layers of overlapping Cretan lyra play drone-like modal phrases. At 3 minutes, the various lines come together along with added percussion, to form a more driving, unified, full melody, growing in intensity with hints of Irish folk music and Arabic music, to a powerful ending. Mesmerising, contemplative and experimental, singular sounds for a documentary looking at lesser-known cultures, spiritual places or undefinable combinations of cultures.

Noel di Gautier

Pastoral flute septet. Various flute lines dance in counterpoint with an enchanting melody and hints of English folk. Regal, jaunty with a darkness beneath. Prim and proper interweaving flutes, perfect bewitching fantasy film music, conjuring up visions of the scary, dark forest scene from a classic Disney film, or the playful trouble-making of a Robin Hood figure.

Nexus

Bouncy synth track. Fat arpeggiated synths bouncing around a wash of synths, becoming more punctuated by percussive blasts. A break then an 80s synth melody is added before an unexpected ambient end. Fun, jaunty and hopeful, like a jolly retro robot on a bouncy castle, perfect for happy adverts or as an upbeat soundtrack to a documentary.

One Day

Melodic trap. Trap beats from the get go with pretty Noname style jazz chords on keys. Electronic samples and laser synths cut through the relaxed, hazy atmosphere. Beat break with wavy synth notes singing out before the melodic chords return. Chilled, peaceful and hopeful, a cool, laid back track perfect for summer adverts for streetwear brands.

Leggo

EDM instrumental with trap beats. Chipmunk vocal samples introduce a fat EDM synth build with trap beats and female spoken word samples. Gives way to flowing harp samples before a dark trap beat section. Repeats. Melodic bell-like beat section to end. Tense, moody and brash, a slightly threatening build suited to a trailer for an action-packed thriller of a TV show, or a brooding urban advert for streetwear.

White Muki

Gentle instrumental on piano and percussion. Melodic percussion intro rings out, like a lullaby played on gamelan and church bells. Melodic passage on harpsichord and guitar alternates with a gentle piano section. Synth strings swell, sounding like a choir. Comes to a quiet finish. Hopeful, tender and soothing, a reassuring, enveloping sound, perfect for a comforting advert for a trustworthy, caring product.

Way to Go

Summery pop instrumental. Bright synths, claps and chugging percussion introduce the happy, soaring chorus and simple melodies. Happy, hopeful and fun, perfect music for a summer advert, optimistic TV drama, or Love Island-style sunset montage.

Tresero A Maggio

Percussive hangdrum-led track. Melodic hangdrum and driving percussion lead an atmospheric instrumental. More melodic handpan section before the close. Anticipatory, excited and shrouded in mystery, perfect for nature or travel docs, imagine catching glimpses of lush foliage from train speeding high on a mountain track.

Interlude is more sparse, without the driving rhythms at first, building momentum and rhythmic intensity toward the end of the track.

It’s Just What I Think

Nostalgic soundtrack to kids playtime. Naive intro on warm, retro keys. Joined by sound effects, tinkling cans and crunching paper. Vocal ‘Ooohs’ enter with uplifting drums, interrupted by spoken word samples. A steady drum beat, keys and percussive tin can groove settles in, sounding like a microscopic recording of ants in work in the backyard. A new synth-led section brings fantasy, twinkling lights and gurgling sound effects, before a return to the melody with added percussive effects. Innocent, hopeful and nostalgic, suitable for a heartwarming advert looking at families, kids and the joys of childhood.
