Sapphire

Solo jazz piano. Romantic intro of blissful exotic jazz chords, full melody of chordal 4ths calls to mind Erik Satie or Japanese-inspired classical composition a lĂ  Madame Butterfly. Delicate waltz section, playing around with the same Eastern-inspired chords. Hopeful, loving, content, would suit a romantic Film/TV scene where a smitten character floats on a wave of love. Would also suit a soothing, peaceful advert for a beautiful object or luxurious service.

Season Creep

Atmospheric string and piano build. Ephemeral strings, echoing beat intro, gentle piano notes, strings drone building anticipation. Piano chords then opens up with sustained strings, drums, guitar and tambourine. A quiet section, the best remains then drops out, just piano and light strings to finish. Determined, ambitious, striving and positive, would suit an advert for a powerful, reliable car, or a success against the odds on TV/Film.

No Drums version available.

1 min and 30 sec ad length versions available.

Start again

Sincere and relaxed, with piano, glockenspiel, and vocals that make for an acoustic pop song. It follows a common structure stanza/chorus/stanza/chorus, alternating vocals with glockenspiel to sustain the refrain. Peaceful and serene, it will play well as title track and background for advertising.

The glass lake

Somber and ethereal, with a piercing violin, a mellow vibraphone, and a classical piano that dialogue in a very physical and earthy performance in the vein of mid 1800s classical sonatas. Structured in 4 parts, the violin acts as a connector between all the sections and bridges firstly the vibraphone and then the piano, before returning solo for the coda. High quality execution that will fit dramas with a sense of sadness and longing with a seethed edge.

Windswept

Emotional and delicate, a pianoforte performance that makes sapient use of harmonics and arpeggio technique to deliver a poignant yet firm episode of music. It builds a substantial amount of emotional content without never being too blatant or showy. This would suit romantic dramas and similar applications, possibly where a solo character is involved.

Nice Idea

Tender and melancholic, featuring an arpeggiated piano wrapped by a strings arrangement that make use of modern day film scoring techniques to deliver a short theme, and develop it in just 1 minute and 20 seconds. Starts with piano, and after second 40 the strings take over. It will suit short form advertising and film trailers where the music is needed to help sustaining the emotional arch of your story.

The Real Business

Two part brass instrumental. Unsteady jazz piano and erratic saxophone notes begin before settling into a mellow, lyrical piano and sax melody with warm string swells. Slightly off-kilter tuning counteracts the sweetness of the melody, giving it a quirky edge. Dreamlike, nostalgic and strange, would suit a reflective documentary moment or a sentimental but not sickly-sweet Film/TV sequence.

Untied Kingdom

Bright and smooth, with groovy medium-tempo beats, 90s synth leads, and soothing female vocals that bring a Protection-like Massive Attack flavour to the scene. It delivers early Trip-Hop elements in a kind of hopeful mood. Would suit promo and corporate videos, but also play well as soundtrack for fiction films.

When The Horizon Bursts

Soothing and contemplative, with swirling high pitched strings that evoke a sense of uneasiness on a solid and reassuring base of long cello drones. Orchestral percussion brings in tribal and epic reminders. Feels like Macbeth, or a classy Braveheart. “In the frosty air, the lonesome warrior reaches the summit of the mountain and beholds the grandioseness of a burning war field”.

End and Beginning

Reflective, dark and searching, with deep repetitive timpani and a sorrowful piano performance that play in the low range of frequencies to deliver a poignant feeling of inevitability. Something big is happening. It steadily grows in intensity as a compelling string ensemble builds and builds. Our protagonist is finally ready to accept the consequences of an inevitable, dramatic reality.
