Sparse all-American Western track. Echoing electric guitar and rattlesnake percussion. A desolate desert soundscape, tumbleweed and a blazing sun. Mysterious, pensive and reflective, perfect Ennio Morricone-style soundtrack music for sombre western TV spoofs and adverts or documentaries reporting on another type of cowboy.

Revel in the Flame (Suite)
An uplifting love song with or without vocals. Acoustic guitar and kick drum punch out a rhythmic start, building anticipation. We ease into the song, verse then chorus, then verse with added piano and drums followed by more powerful, rousing chorus. The break maintains this intensity before it’s taken down a notch for one chorus before bursting into a heady but tender finale. Inspiring, positive, romantic, and full of breathless excitement, this emotional grower would suit earnest, all-American films or TV dramas. Our characters, finally reunited, having been kept apart by a series of misunderstandings, decide “Let’s just kick it off…” and embrace love.
The instrumental version is an inspiring guitar and piano build, perfect for rousing, feel-good adverts.
Nothing Matters But The Joy
An upbeat, but relaxed, steady jazz jam on piano, guitar, double bass and drums. Jazz piano to start, joined by double bass and cymbal rattles. Electric guitar takes the melody with piano chord progressions underneath. Guitar solos, with drums and bass intensifying before dropping out, leaving the piano to take an intimate solo turn. All return to the original melody, keeping things sweet, with guitar gently improvising. Happy, hopeful, fun, safe and wholesome. The opening credits of a film set on the East Coast of the US, driving home over crunchy Autumn leaves, met by a happy dog at the door. Safe and warm in wholesome America. Or it could be New York in the 80s of goofy feelgood American comedy .Three Men and A Baby without the drama.
Hill Billy
A guitar- and piano-led surf/blues stomper. A guitar riff with accompanying drums introduces a steady blues riff, soon joined by some Spongebob Squarepants-style slide guitar, bringing a surf vibe. The riff loops underneath bluesy piano trills. Piano and slide guitar come to the fore with a short electric guitar solo on top. All instruments confidently stride toward a traditional blues ending. Carefree, country, laid-back and cool. Distinctly American, evoking the wild west, both the saloons and the seaside. A laid-back track that brings unmistakeable stateside charm to adverts or on film.
Funker
A straight-up funk jam with guitar, bass, drums and saxophone. A synthesised guitar sound, walking bass and steady 4/4 drums enter with a classic funk guitar riff on top. Sax-like chord bursts, wah guitar and busier drums get us excited, then we’re back to the original groove again. A brief saxophone break, then the funk resumes. Positive, chilled-out, laid-back and cool. A 70s groove to strut to. Cruising through an American city in technicolour, with playful attitude.
Getaway
Everything is going to be alright in the wide American open. Wholesome, unmistakably positive and with a message of hope. Full band with piano, strummed acoustic guitar, joined by harmonica and some confident hammond organ later in the song. Earnest and optimistic. Good for American adverts about family, getting together, doing nice things.
Silver Moon
Violin-led country-folk instrumental. Folky violin melody with occasional harmonies soars over wistful slide guitar, gentle electric guitar, double bass and steady drums. Warm, fuzzy and sentimental, perfect for a slightly cheesy, Waltons-style, wholesome American TV show or nostalgic advert.
Port Authority Bus Station Blues
Atmospheric acoustic guitar track. Brooding solo guitar accompanies itself with finger-picking and block chords. Slow, meandering, expressive and nostalgic, suited to a turbulent TV/Film scene set in America. Becomes more emotional and dense throughout, growing in intensity and turning slightly melancholy.
Letter to Val
Solo slide guitar track. Slow, expressive acoustic guitar in an improvised style. Free rhythm with a plodding feel, melodies emerging from the swampy atmosphere. Moved to higher register slides for a finish. Chilled, calm and nostalgic, a retro American-style blues track with heart and soul, perfect for factual documentaries, nature programmes or peaceful adverts.
Hump Back Blues
Jaunty acoustic guitar track. Solo blues guitar in finger-picking style, breezy and cheerful. Hints of jazz and improv in the mid-section. Slower, more expressive section to finish. Nostalgic, thoughtful and pastoral, would suit fun, American style TV/Film scenes or a playful nature documentary tracking fun-loving animals.
