Piano-led orchestral/beat mash-up. Jazz drum intro, choppy jazz piano motif, driving drums. Orchestral strings join, smoothing out the disjointed piano, followed by edgy trap beats. Strings soar over the beats and grown-up piano. Abrupt ending. Jittery and excited at first, maturing throughout to a confident, epic piece. Would suit an advert for a transformative product, or a tv show interlude. A before and after from likeable and clumsy to impressive, mysterious, measured and powerful.

Haunted Music Box
Haunting simple and cinematic, with music box, angelic vocals, piano and orchestral strings, including a searching solo violin. If you are looking for a magical and macabre setting for something you’ve hit gold. This will suit pretty much anything from fantasy adverts to Brother’s Grimm fairy tales. You can almost hear someone narrating over the top. Brilliant.
5 Silver Line (suite)
Running over the hills, through the forest, but like, as fast as the wind. In black and white, as part of a dramatic film sequence (or an advert for Jägermeister) – is my exploitative interpretation of this brilliantly thumping and atmospheric track. Tribal drums (in the folk sense?) perfectly synchronised with acoustic guitar keep you on your toes with off-kilter time signatures and dramatic flourishes. The vocal version adds a close but haunting feel pushing you like the wind… you can probably tell I like this track. Imagine Woodkid, if Woodkid was good.
Moonless Jungle
Secret clandestine fun, what are those guys up to, skulking around in the shadows? Repetitive spooky chimes are joined by strings and percussion, and eventually pizzicato strings. The arrangement is dynamic, jumping into action in places, and at other times sparse and anticipatory. Great for subversive sections of film with a bit of fun involved.
Down These Roads
A strong industrial beat joined by a strident classical strings and mandolin-like synth, introduces a sampled female vocal singing “I’ll drive down these roads”. Massive, triumphant, fanfare, orchestral big beat / in your face hip hop. This has got car advert all over it.
Horizon Venture Theme
Varied and cascading piano and live string section swirl into a vortex of questions and answers, unifying in a positive crescendo around 1:00, then launching into a series of dynamic sections, before a serene unified ending. Sophisticated and masterfully arranged – I’d imagine Pina Bausch choreographing something to this.
Somewhere
Simple wistful piano piece with subtle orchestral strings, nodding to “Somewhere Out There” in Disney’s “An American Tail”, but usable in many poignant moments. I can imagine this in a campaign video asking people to help donate to a charity, or a sad but hopeful scene in a wholesome family series.
The glass lake
Somber and ethereal, with a piercing violin, a mellow vibraphone, and a classical piano that dialogue in a very physical and earthy performance in the vein of mid 1800s classical sonatas. Structured in 4 parts, the violin acts as a connector between all the sections and bridges firstly the vibraphone and then the piano, before returning solo for the coda. High quality execution that will fit dramas with a sense of sadness and longing with a seethed edge.
Soaring Dreams
Delicate yet jumpy and surprising, with a structure that spans through 4 different musical ideas and arrangements throughout the piece. A classical and poignant orchestral start followed by a paced, urged second section. After that, a solid rhythmical element enters the scene and takes the piece at its maximum level of complexity. The last part is left to a somber and saturnine piano with the help of rarefied woodwinds inserts. Overarching all these shifts, a feeling of melancholy and yearning, a flower full of hope.
Nice Idea
Tender and melancholic, featuring an arpeggiated piano wrapped by a strings arrangement that make use of modern day film scoring techniques to deliver a short theme, and develop it in just 1 minute and 20 seconds. Starts with piano, and after second 40 the strings take over. It will suit short form advertising and film trailers where the music is needed to help sustaining the emotional arch of your story.
