Multi-instrumental contemporary jazz/folk. Light-footed marimba intro into a marimba riff with counter melody. Violin and cello join with a brief melody, continue over the marimba. Polyrhythms emerge from multiple layerings and harmonies. Quiet marimba break before a burst of vigorous strings. Dynamic new section with sparse piano, strange rhythms and freely soloing marimba. Slow down and fade to finish. Playful, folky and a bit magical, secret goings on, covert, playful encounters and mysterious but jolly woodland fun. Like the soundtrack to a jaunty but slight dark Enid Blyton tale.

Electronic instrumental with samples. Gradual build. First, a beat and electronic sound effects, hi hat drums added, other electronics join. Full melody join, the beats settle into a steady groove. New section introduces laser synths and whooshing electronics before the beat re-emerges with simple repetitive synth, a powerful, purposeful strut. Intriguing, playful and mysterious, like the quirky electronics of Moderat. Suitable for a European advert, maybe for a car that can navigate tiny Italian streets. Could also accompany a determined character on TV/Film.

Intricate guitar instrumental. Plucked acoustic guitar lines interwoven. Electric guitar with some reverb and delay effects picks out a melody on top. Electric guitar grows more prominent, sounding like an instrumental Warpaint, while the acoustic lines grow stronger and more intricate. The interplay of guitar lines creates a chiming effect. Atmospheric, melancholy and enveloping, a melancholy, hypnotic sound world, perfect for tense TV/Film/Doc moments in unfamiliar environments.

Sparkling electronica. Glassy synth intro, expanding crystals of synthesised sound, glittering in the light. Soft steady beat under delicate arpeggiated synths, fast rainbow synth notes flit by above a rising sustained synth string section. Calm descends. Bubbling synths and flute-like electronics join gentle, clear electric guitar, building anticipation. Magical, delicate and drenched in muted pastel colours, a prismatic unfolding of synthesised sounds imitating nature. Perfect accompaniment and contrast to a documentary about the natural world, science and nature combine in a fantastical future.

European-style jazz instrumental. Spanish guitar soloing furiously over a bed of walking double bass, percussion and guitar chords. Accordion takes over with a playful solo. Guitar returns, accordion provides chordal accompaniment. Fun, warm, uplifting and positive, laid back jazzy high jinks for adverts or TV/Docs/Film evoking the retro swinging technicolour of Umbrellas of Cherbourg.

Vintage rock ‘n’ roll track. Drum intro, laid back sparse funk guitar, 60s-style keys. Female vocal chorus enters, singing subtle, dreamy ‘aaahs’. Strings enter over funky guitar, walking bass guitar and retro keyboards. A 1960s-esque psychedelic keyboard and string section before a rock ‘n’ roll guitar solo. Cool, laid back, upbeat and retro. Sustained melancholy orchestral strings, a special FX blast then a searching ancient violin melody rings out, accompanied by intermittent drums beats and a chorus sample. Frantic, dramatic violin section, choppy and fierce with rumbling drums beneath. A key change heightens the anticipation before a dramatic stop and resurgence at the finish.
