Big Hublot

Sample-heavy 90s influenced hip hop track. Synth electric guitar plays a tense riff over various samples, including hand claps, vinyl scratches, radio static, organ, hand drums, tambourine and flute, and dark hip hop beats. Tense and slightly sinister but cool and collected, with a hint of dangerous fun, perfect for an atmospheric, streetwise advert or TV/Film sequence set in a dangerous neighbourhood where anything can happen.

Careless (Suite)

Electronic track. Beat intro with mellow synth. Added beats, rhythmic bassy synth, harsh, glassy synth effects and straight up drums. Upbeat but slightly melancholy with a hint of tension. Suitable for moody TV drama sequences or for a cool, clean, modern advert.

Careless 2 is longer, more like a electronic dance track, with added finger snaps and effects and punchier beats.

Instant 1

Synth pop track. Frantic bleepy synth intro, snare drums shuffle. Keyboards play sparse riff, over alternating marimba-like synth notes. Another layer of piano creates overlapping rhythms, Drums break with single piano notes, drums become more complex. Spanish acoustic guitar plays solo over drums, frenetic, choppy orchestral strings take their turn before the finish. Sombre and mysterious, sophisticated pop for flashy corporate videos, ad campaigns or background music for intriguing documentaries.

Wistful Piano (Suite)

Scattered piano melody with electronic effects over a subtle ambient synth drone. Background drone grows in waves of atmospheric noise. The noise grows stronger and harsher, almost swallowing the piano notes. Another string drone swells to finish. Introspective, melancholy and reflective, suiting a moment of pause, reflecting on the past and contemplating the future. Suitable for thoughtful ending in a TV/Doc.

w/ synths: Added other-wordly synth drones and wonky sustained synth lines, giving an off-kilter edge.

w/ strings: Regal orchestral string arrangement on top of piano melody from the start, string lines intersecting in a looping counterpoint.

Fast Life

Electronic track with samples and dark bassy beats. Fades in with electronic repeated riff and synth electric guitar sounds. Sustained synths and trap beats underpin the broad synth sound. High pitched sustained synth introduced. Fades in and out sporadically. Punchy, brash, moving with a strut, laid back but in your face, would suit an urban advert or background music for a youth culture documentary.

Never Wanna Say

Synth pads and grooving hi-hat introduce a bold kick. Evolves by the book into an early house classic with 808 snares and claps. At 1:48 muted synth chords start stabbing the air, gradually building tension until dropping into a tight groove. Reminiscent of the music to “Good life” by Inner City, with better production. Retro, confident and driving. Vox version has a soulful male voice (Elliot Chapman).

Day to Night

Lush pensive evolving synths introduce joined by a muted build up of kick, bold funky rhodes and synth bass arpeggios. The track teases you by rising and falling, not ever quite kicking in but building deliciously with percussion and synth pads, keeping you on tenderhooks thoughout. Dark, sultry and sophisticated dance music. Vox version has a soulful male voice (Elliot Chapman).

Making Your Point

Medium-fast synthpop with vocal ahhs and oohs. Strong beats and violently happy, makes you want to run free and fast. Young, fiercely proud, pulse quickening and driven. Reminiscent of MGMT’s “Kids” but harder and faster.

Circle (Tear) Jerking

Pensive slow electronica. Clear and crisp with strong programmed drums. Strong chorus with chimes and blaring brass. Would suit a demo vid of some sort of brilliant new cool technology. 2:56 brass breakdown to final chorus. Fiercely proud with more than a hint of cool strength.

Le Vent

Beautiful glockenspiel sequences with glassy synth in background. Joined by plucked classical guitar – very anticipatory. Stays on a soft dreamy tip until 2:30, where it breaks down with quick percussive glockenspiel. Finally breaks into a light beat at 3:53 with harmonising arpeggios, then builds slightly with synth pads. Simple guitar arpeggio outro.
