Panic Amongst the Dragonflies

Mysterious multi-instrumental. Atmospheric feedback intro followed by oom-pah-pah waltz rhythm and childish marimba melody. Orchestral strings and accordion join with a Gallic-inspired melody, reminiscent of Amélie. The melancholy gives way to excitable, erratic rhythms on all instruments, before a dynamic final section with passionate violin and jumpy marimba. Magical, melancholy and manic, perfect music to accompany a rainy midnight walk through the streets of Paris, only to end up in a sleazy speakeasy at the centre of an absinthe-sodden freakshow.

Synth-heavy mid-pace electronic banger, reminiscent of early Daft Punk or Justice. A steady groove is augmented throughout the track, adding extra layers of fat synth and a retro organ sample. A drop in the mid-section builds to a warped version of the riff before a bigger build back to the main theme. Cool, determined, edgy and urban. Dark with flashes of neon light, this track struts, transforming the grey city streets into a technicolour catwalk. Perfect for fashion or sport adverts, or anything representing street or youth culture.

Orchestral soundscape. High register sustained strings, rhythmic piano motifs and bass drones create a lush, mysterious soundscape. Jerky, stop-start moments and dark harmonies create slight unease until the chords resolve again. Reflective, heartfelt and troubled, quietly powerful soundtrack music to suit a desolate landscape or a thought-provoking visual.

Sparse all-American Western track. Echoing electric guitar and rattlesnake percussion. A desolate desert soundscape, tumbleweed and a blazing sun. Mysterious, pensive and reflective, perfect Ennio Morricone-style soundtrack music for sombre western TV spoofs and adverts or documentaries reporting on another type of cowboy.

Pulsating instrumental electronic track. A threatening synth pulse, turning into a full blown drum ‘n’ bass beat with a repeated melodic synth motif on top. A pause, the pulse re-enters, relentless and driving, with laser synth beats and other electronic effects. The track builds until the end. Breathless, thrilling, cool and dark, perfect for a tense chase scene in a bombastic urban gangster tv/film sequence or an ad parodying this type of edgy thriller.

Epic electronic build with orchestral strings. Crackly intro, muted electronic build, powerful beats and glassy synths. Sustained, dramatic orchestral strings build to a pummelling electronic beat with glittering arpeggiated synth and a serious, choppy string section. A break before a fresh build. Solemn and driven yet hopeful, all out epic 90s vibes like Fatboy Slim’s ‘Right Here, Right Now’, would suit tense sports coverage, a dramatic advert, or sincere documentary TV.

An epic menacing orchestral track with an electronic edge. Strings and bombastic drums begin before we are drawn in to the choppy waters of a dynamic string section. An unnerving interlude on synth before the horns, loud drums and frenetic strings return, ending on a dramatic drum roll. Scary, menacing, brash, bold, bombastic. Suitable for a pastiche advert for a powerful movement or bold product, or for an dark, intense film sequence.

Alternative version no.1 features an longer interlude of tribal drums and a distant male roar.

Atmospheric electronic track. A dark pulse topped with fleeting electronic beats, delicate glassy synth motif and more percussion. Arpeggiated synth then the quiet pulse of a heartbeat. Dark and sombre with broad synth chords and a bubbling synth motif, similar to Fever Ray. Technology coupled with human weakness – danger could be close at hand. Suitable for a cold Nordic drama or a crime documentary.

Bleepy electronic synth track with orchestral strings and a vocal chorus. Bright glockenspiel-like synth notes ring out as the vocals and strings build to a dynamic section with more attitude. Charming with a glamorous edge, perfect for a corporate campaign video or advert for luxury goods.

Revel in the Flame (Suite)

An uplifting love song with or without vocals. Acoustic guitar and kick drum punch out a rhythmic start, building anticipation. We ease into the song, verse then chorus, then verse with added piano and drums followed by more powerful, rousing chorus. The break maintains this intensity before it’s taken down a notch for one chorus before bursting into a heady but tender finale. Inspiring, positive, romantic, and full of breathless excitement, this emotional grower would suit earnest, all-American films or TV dramas. Our characters, finally reunited, having been kept apart by a series of misunderstandings, decide “Let’s just kick it off…” and embrace love.

The instrumental version is an inspiring guitar and piano build, perfect for rousing, feel-good adverts.
