Atonement Pass

Dissonant and cloudy, a crying lament of strings that successfully combines early classical 1900s influences with modern day film scoring. It has four definite sections that alternate relaxation with excitement. It will suit period dramas with complex characterisations but also possibly otherworldly and supernatural settings. Atonement. Downton Abbey if it had more balls.

Not This Day

Hugely passionate, an intense dialogue of strings intertwined beautifully to create a beautiful, varied and dynamic piece. A stream of playfulness and longing, with determined and delicate sections. This feels like an emotionally charged dance, a passionate love-making session, a frenetic game, a storm ravaging the sea. Not This Day takes us through many different states, and eventually rests with a triumphant positive end.

Playful Orchestra

Sneaky and playful, with pizzicato strings, brass accents and an alluring theme embodied by woodwinds and violins. Somewhere in between a big orchestra and a folk band, it steadily increases in tempo as it progresses. Great for light and quirky advertising.

Stories and Stones

Catchy and uplifting, with a folk acoustic guitar and a warm male choirs that create an interesting and compelling episode of indie acoustic folk. The second part develops into a fully arranged piece with increased complexity. Several applications, from emotional and in your face commercials to soundtracks for dramas and bittersweet comedies

Brasil

Warm and sincere, an ambient episode with traces of tender melancholic elements. Emotional acoustic arpeggios and evocative solos of trumpet and acoustic guitar create a wonderful sense of longing in space and time. As the title suggests, there is indeed a south American edge here, but definitely more in a calm-sunset-on-a-beach sausade way than carnival party time.

Visiting Laila

Solo piano. Jazz chords straight out of a classic movie scene set in a smoky cavernous jazz club. Slow chordal movement at first, sweet and lyrical, moves to a confused romantic motif with some dissonance, chords grow in volume and intensity, a declaration of love. Back to the introductory chords, more relaxed now with hints of unsettling dissonance. Romantic, confused and reckless, a love letter to early jazz, on Film/TV, would suit a La La Land style, modern interpretation of heady jazz-age love.

A l'Ctoile figCe

Soft bell-like marimba / glockenspiel is joined by emotive classical guitar, percussion and bass. Beautiful, rich, organic and hopeful. Quietly inspiring with glimpses of sadness and a strong happy end.

This is a Chair

Relaxed solo blues guitar track. Chilled acoustic guitar melody, calm and restrained with melodies emerging from the free rhythmic style. Dramatic build in speed and emotion before a strong, cheerful refrain, followed by a sparse, bittersweet outro.

Piano Optimistic

Simple piano track. Piano arpeggios beneath an emotional piano melody. Tender, bittersweet and melancholy, a yearning ode to love lost and found, perfect for Amélie-style romantic adverts or pensive TV scenes.
