Easy Way

Country-jazz instrumental. Dynamic walking double bass, quickly strummed acoustic guitar, classic jazz drums, frenetic saxophone soloing. Horn is introduced, duelling brass solos. Fun, positive and warm, ramshackle jazz straight out of a 1920s speakeasy, would suit a retro Film/TV scene, a lush jazz-age garden party, or an advert for a laid-back but jazzy product.

Bed version features No Brass.

Horizon Venture Theme

Varied and cascading piano and live string section swirl into a vortex of questions and answers, unifying in a positive crescendo around 1:00, then launching into a series of dynamic sections, before a serene unified ending. Sophisticated and masterfully arranged – I’d imagine Pina Bausch choreographing something to this.

Take A Stand

Country instrumental with slide guitar. Confident slide guitar accompanied by steady drums, bass and acoustic guitar to start. Honky tonk rhythm introduced on electric guitar, adds texture. Country-style violin solos over the groove. The slide re-enters accompanied by choppy violin. Upbeat, charming and fun, perfect retro, line-dancin’ country music for TV sequences and family adverts.

Captain Marzipan

Balkan-style instrumental. Sustained string note builds anticipation, piano motif and drums enters underneath, excitement builds. Strings become louder and earthier in tone. Balkan-style melody enters on choppy violins with double bass drums and piano accompaniment. Grows with frenetic energy, soaring, squeaking violins, melodies intersecting. Dramatic change of tone: complete slow down with drunk double bass and woozy violin swaying drowsily between notes. Shrill piano joins adding jazzy flourishes, all build back to previous upbeat, ramshackle melody. Dramatic, surprising, reckless and intriguing, suitable for a rollicking TV advert or Film/TV/Doc scene, or a strange party scene, where our character is disorientated and disconcerted by the madness happening all around, dropped unexpectedly into a quirky unknown world.

Pass it Off – Dub Instrumental

Full on in your face hip hop. It’s big, it’s bad and brash. Recommended for rapid cut promos, or waking up the neighbours. This guy knows what I’m talking about. I’m nodding my head as I type this. Imagine Busta Rhymes ‘Ante Up’ mixed with a little bit of Missy Elliot and some chipmunks, but like, hip hop chipmunks. All samples cleared.

60414

Jaunty and sneaky, a nice patchwork of old style rock and roll piano chords, soul inserts, R&B and jazzy samples all caged in an energetic big beat structure. A saxophone comes and goes to complement this quirky and compelling episode of music.

Drive

Magical and groovy, with a sensual moog arpeggio and a mellow drum machine groove that make for a cool and energetic feeling nested on a mid-tempo rhythm. Like a passing cloud on early nineties pop-electronic skies. French electronica taste here. Will suit short form advertising and high-tech product videos.

Africa

Confident, dynamic and well produced reggae, with a strong brass section and a tight arrangement. Elements of dub, imagine a laid back version of “I don’t like cricket”. Will suit beach, club, lounging scenes where you haven’t got a care in the world. Will suit ads, travel videos, anything with an exotic and bold vibe.

In Between

A sensual patchwork of sounds that goes deep into funk and soul territories, with a solid bass line and catchy electric guitars to create a cool mix of pop, funk, soul and fusion. An interesting combination of early Phoenix and Jamiroquai, available with or without vocals.

West Side at Night

Catchy and groovy, with modern dub beats and a dusty low-fi feeling that take you for a spin in a city full of lights and graffiti. Good for urban settings with a skewed retro look, but also for showcase and promo videos.
